Matt-coated Paper (Thin)
*Paper color cannot be simulated in on-screen images.
This glossless coated paper is pre-treated on only its front. It is popular for its graceful texture and shiny whiteness, and is used for designs and artwork created in Illustrator, postcards, photographers’ works, and direct mailing.

Though this paper type has a lot of white color overall, the unique texture of its matte finish imparts an overall subdued look and produces white even more beautifully. A disadvantage of this paper, however, is that ink is difficult to dry. Ink will still transfer for up to two days if you rub printed areas against white paper after it has dried. So, you should avoid using this paper to print designs that use a lot of ink. Bleed-through will also occur in areas of print whose total density of all four color (CMYK) inks used totals or exceeds 300%.
What Is "kg" of Paper?
This unit "kg of paper" is used to express paper weight or density when a stack of 1000 sheets (500 sheets in the US) is weighed. In the printing industry, this is called "ream weight." Technically, ream weight is calculated as follows:
actual sheet size x basis weight / basic size
Basis weight = weight of 500 sheets (ream) cut to a standard size
Basic size = standard size of paper used for defining basis weight
In more familiar terms, this means that printed paper products that do not allow or let only a little through are called "dense" or heavy, while products that let some light through are thought of as "lightweight."
Ream weight can be considered as a rough estimate for the thickness of paper. However, with some types of paper, thickness differs because of the paper manufacturing process even though they are the same brand and of same ream weight.
|Ream Weight||Thickness||Thickness of 500 Sheets||Description||Product Links|
|55kg||0.063 mm||About 3.15 cm||Very thin paper that is used for flyers inserted into newspapers||Flyers
