About the Overprint Process

Leave the Checkbox Blank to Prevent Trouble

Overprint is performed when the [Overprint] on color [Fill] checkbox on the [Properties] tab relating to color in Illustrator is selected. However, overprint is not applied (K100% is overprinted. More details here), when the Overprint on color [Fill] checkbox is selected on our RIP.

Do not check on the box that is circled.Note: The overprint setting causes trouble later on when it is influenced by transparency or effects. Please understand that an overprint check is not included in the data check we perform at GRAPHIC after your data is submitted, and we cannot assume any responsibility if the overprint result is not as you originally intended. So, use overprint at your discretion. Also, special attention must be paid to overprint when you are using Illustrator 8.0x, since it cannot be confirmed on screen or in printouts depending on the type of machine.

Pay Attention to the Overprint Setting

白のオーバープリント時のメッセージOverprint can be set to each object in Adobe Illustrator data. However, when overprint is applied to an object made of white color (CMYK all 0%), the overprint will be completely assimilated with the base color (i.e. become transparent) and become invisible. The message on the right will be displayed if you attempt this setting. So, we recommend that you confirm the result of the overprint setting at [Overprint preview] before submitting your data to prevent the unintended result below (Version9 or later).
